Community through Theater’s Bring-A-Friend-To-Theater program welcomes Boston’s young adults 14-24 to sign up for free tickets to a professional, live theater performance. Grab a friend and pick the date, we’ll buy the tickets and send them over — no strings attached!
A Man of No Importance, presented by SpeakEasy Stage Company, is a musical centered on a queer bus driver named Alfie in 1960s Dublin. As Alfie tries to stage his own amateur play about Oscar Wilde, he is met with resistance from church officials, forcing Alfie to confront the forces of bigotry over “the love that dare not speak its name.” Featuring on stage musicians, the musical explores the redemptive power of theater and love.
