Good Feminist
Smash the patriarchy! (but make it aesthetic)
A darkly comedic exploration of modern feminism, Good Feminist follows Laurel, a newly divorced woman navigating the complexities of self-discovery and activism. Feeling adrift after her marriage ends, she seeks meaning in the world of contemporary feminism but soon discovers that the movement is not as unified as she once believed. As she integrates into a radical feminist group led by the charismatic and polarizing Adelaide, Laurel finds herself questioning the line between empowerment and dogma. The play delves into the pressures of ideological purity, the performative nature of activism in the digital age, and the personal cost of belonging to a movement that demands unwavering commitment. As Laurel struggles to find her own voice amidst competing perspectives, she must determine what she truly believes and where she belongs in the fight for gender equality.
